Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Oprah Winfrey...These are names you may know as successful entrepreneurs. But this didn't happen overnight: what makes them successful? What skills, traits and habits got them to where they are now? For this challenge, you will get to take a deep dive into world changing personalities that interest and inspire you to find out about common traits between them. You will connect some of those traits to traits you currently have. There are world changing traits in us all... we just need to find them.

When viewing successful business people, we often see only where they are now. We may see the amount of money they make while riding around on their private jets. But how did they get there?  Often times, success comes from years of dedication, hard work and perseverance, all skills that are often missing from the normal school curriculum. While taking part in this challenge, children will first identify three entrepreneurs whom they see as successful. Through a deep dive into the life and history of each person, children will gather a list of identifiable situations/events that showed how that person was successful and how they reacted to the situation. Through this life analysis and with guidance from the mentor, children will develop a set of skills and success criteria that they aspire towards and that make an entrepreneur successful. The final stage of the process is for children to self reflect on what skills and traits they show in relation to the success criteria developed earlier.  Once identified, children will set one/two goal(s) to develop the skills and/or traits similar to those they researched. By learning from those who inspire us, we can strive to be the best versions of ourselves.
