You are what you eat! In this challenge, you will learn the importance of maintaining a healthy diet. You will be exposed to topics such as healthy foods, sustainable diets, seasonal and local produce, health risks posed by processed foods and sugars, and healthy alternatives. Using your new knowledge and skills, you will create a healthy lunch to go in a lunchbox or on a plate. Don't forget that great food needs great presentation - you will decide how to present your lunch from drawings to models or making the real thing!

In this challenge, children will learn the importance of maintaining a healthy diet. Children will be exposed to topics such as healthy foods, sustainable diets, seasonal and local produce, health risks posed by processed foods and sugars, and healthy alternatives to foods they frequently consume. The lessons will delve into the basic food groups, the nutritional value of the foods we eat, how our bodies digest and use food, the importance of water and fiber in our diet, food labels, food preparation, food allergies, and food safety. They will use their knowledge and skills to create a healthy lunch to go in their lunchbox or on their plate. Children will choose from a variety of healthy and unhealthy foods from egg to pizza, lollipops to hot chips. Children will choose how to present their lunch boxes, either drawn with labels added to identify exactly what the food is (e.g. whole grain bread), a 3D model, cut out pictures or they may choose to prepare the healthy lunch for their family to enjoy.
